Microsoft
Certified Solution Developer (MCSD) for
Microsoft .NET candidates are required to
pass four core exams and one elective exam.
The core exams provide a valid and reliable
measure of technical proficiency and
expertise in developing and maintaining
enterprise applications that are based on
Microsoft development tools, technologies,
and platforms on the Microsoft .NET
Framework 1.0 and Microsoft .NET Framework
1.1. The elective exam provides proof of
expertise on a specific Microsoft server
product.
An MCSD for
Microsoft .NET candidate should have two
years of experience developing and
maintaining solutions and applications.
NEW You
may now choose to apply the new Microsoft
Certified Technology Specialist exams for
Microsoft SQL Server 2005 and Microsoft
BizTalk Server 2006 as electives toward your
MCSD credential.
Candidates who
use Microsoft .NET Framework 2.0 and
Microsoft Visual Studio 2005 should consider
pursuing the new Microsoft Certified
Technology Specialist (MCTS) and Microsoft
Certified Professional Developer (MCPD)
credentials. These credentials give
developers a simpler and more targeted
framework to showcase their technical skills
and their ability to develop rich solutions
that meet business needs.
The following tables list Official Microsoft
Learning Courses and Microsoft Press books
